One of America’s top selling trucks is about to mount a raid on the local road transport landscape.
The International 7600 is the biggest selling vocational truck in America and Iveco, its local producer, believes it can attract just as big a following here with waste collectors and concrete agitator operators or intrastate semitrailer fleets. More than 1000 bonneted trucks with US power and rated above 400 horsepower were sold in Australia in 2006 and Iveco wants a greater slice of the action. While Iveco has the bigger 9000 series it wasn’t price competitive in the segment and the 7600 has been brought in to better fill that gap.
